Written by an autistic child of only 13 years old, this book gives a rare insight into the reasons behind his behavior.. The reason he jumps, as it were. Written with emotion, you feel his joy, pain and wonder at the world.
“”The Reason I Jump” is a Rosetta stone. . . . I had to keep reminding myself that the author was a thirteen-year-old boy when he wrote this . . . because the freshness of voice coexists with so much wisdom. This book takes about ninety minutes to read, and it will stretch your vision of what it is to be human.”–Andrew Solomon, “The Times” (U.K.)
This book is fantastic, I read through it in just over an hour, and could not put it down, while no two children with autism are alike, it gives you reasonings as to why they are perhaps acting in certain ways. So much activity going on in their minds.. So beautiful. Not broken. Just different.
